Over 5 million tons of cocoa are produced annually by small farmers around the world and around 40% of the harvest cocoa is processed in Europe, which is now beginning to require importers to offer a series of guarantees about the farm of origin, with emphasis on guaranteeing zero deforestation. There are millions of small farms and hundreds of thousands of cooperatives that starting in January 2025, need to have traceability, risk assessment and forest suitability analysis tools in place. It is in this scenario that Dimitra and its AI appear as one of the few options for these small farmers to offer all the necessary guarantees for export.
