Selection Of Farmers
First, we verify the farmer’s ownership or legal rights to the land, confirming documents such as title rights or permits. Once validated, the farmer completes a basic questionnaire in the Dimitra Connected Farmer App, capturing essential details like farm area, crop type, livestock, and fertilizer use. Following this, our ground staff geo-fences the farm area to ensure precise monitoring and record-keeping.
Setting Baseline
After selecting the farmers and completing land analysis, we define the project details, including sustainable practices to implement, the crediting period, and revenue-sharing arrangements with farmers. Ground assessments and volunteer training are integral to the process. We frequently collaborate with agronomists to evaluate current farming methods and recommend beneficial practices, such as organic farming, residue management, optimized nutrient application, and intercropping/shade tree agroforestry. These practices aim to improve both productivity and environmental impact.
Methodology
We follow internationally approved methodologies, which are publicly available. On a case-by-case basis, we also apply our own methodology for project development. Additionally, we assess the project's additionality, financial feasibility, and long gestation period. We maintain buffer credit conventions (savings from total credits generation per year) for all our projects and ensure third-party validation and verification. This guarantees that every step in the development of these projects is aligned with the right path.
